Sembcorp Marine is hiring now for a large team of hardworking and physically fit General Labourers to join our world-class shipyard operations in Tuas. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals looking for a stable job with an immediate start. We believe in building our team from the ground up, so no previous experience is necessary. We will provide full safety and on-the-job training.

As a General Labourer, you will be the essential support system for our skilled production teams, playing a crucial hands-on role in our major international projects. This is a physically demanding but rewarding job in a dynamic environment. To make your commute easy, we provide daily company transport from Boon Lay MRT and other designated locations. What You Will Do

  • Provide essential manual labour and on-the-ground support to our production and project teams across the shipyard.
  • Assist skilled tradespeople (such as welders, fitters, and riggers) by moving materials, tools, and equipment to their work sites.
  • Perform general site maintenance and housekeeping duties, including cleaning work areas, organizing tools, and removing debris.
  • Strictly adhere to all world-class safety protocols and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times without compromise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from trucks and other transport vehicles.
  • Assist in the setup and rigging of various equipment under the direct supervision of a qualified rigger or supervisor.
  • Diligently clean and prepare project sites, which includes removing scrap metal, debris, and other waste materials to ensure a safe work area.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools as directed by your supervisor after receiving proper instruction.
  • Act as a "fire watch" or "confined space watch" during specific operations, after receiving the required safety training and certification.
  • Support the daily operational needs of the production supervisors by being responsive and proactive.

  • Excellent physical stamina and strength required for a full day of manual labour.

Preferred Qualifications

  • You must be physically strong and medically fit to perform strenuous and demanding work in an outdoor industrial environment.
  • A positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn and work as part of a large, disciplined team.
  • This position is open to Singaporean Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs), and foreign workers who are eligible for a valid Singapore Work Permit.
  • Any prior safety certifications (e.g., WSQ Work-At-Height, Confined Space Entry) are a major advantage but are not required to apply.
