Job Description

The British Council in Lagos is seeking a meticulous and highly organised Examinations Services Officer to join our dynamic team. This is a critical role that sits at the heart of our operations, ensuring the successful and compliant delivery of our portfolio of UK examinations (including IELTS, Cambridge assessments, and various professional and university exams).
This position is responsible for the end-to-end administration of the examination process, from candidate registration to results delivery. What You Will Do
- Coordinate the end-to-end administration and delivery of a wide range of examinations (e.g., IELTS, Cambridge) at our Lagos centres.
- Ensure all exam procedures are carried out in strict accordance with the highest standards of security, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
- Professionally liaise with candidates, test venues, examiners, and invigilators to ensure a smooth and high-quality test day experience for everyone.
- Securely manage all sensitive examination materials, from storage and distribution before the test to the processing and dispatch of results after.

Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process all candidate registrations and payments, ensuring that all data is captured correctly in our management systems.
- Manage the recruitment, training, deployment, and performance monitoring of test day staff (including invigilators and examiners).
- Handle all pre-test and post-test logistics, which includes test venue booking, material distribution, and the secure shipment of exam scripts.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for candidate inquiries, providing clear, accurate, and timely information regarding our examinations.
- Ensure strict adherence to the compliance and quality standards set by both the British Council and our partner examination boards.
- Assist with financial administration tasks, including the reconciliation of test fees and the preparation of operational reports.
Required Skills
- Exceptional organisational, planning, and time-management skills with a meticulous and unwavering eye for detail.
- A high level of IT literacy, with strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet strict deadlines.

- 1-3 years of proven professional experience in a demanding administrative, operational, or project coordination role.
