Universal Music Group’s Interscope Geffen A&M Records is seeking a Studio Assistant to join its Los Angeles-based studio operations team. This is an immediate hire opportunity for candidates who are passionate about the music industry, thrive in creative environments, and possess the organizational skills to ensure smooth day-to-day studio operations.
As a Studio Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting both the technical and administrative aspects of a fast-paced recording environment. You’ll assist engineers, producers, and artists, ensuring sessions run seamlessly and that the studio remains a world-class creative space. From preparing equipment and coordinating session logistics to maintaining schedules and providing hands-on assistance during recordings, this position is perfect for someone looking to build a long-term career in the recording industry.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily studio operations including room setup, breakdown, and upkeep.
- Prepare and maintain studio equipment, ensuring functionality and readiness before every session.
- Support engineers and producers during recording sessions, including patching, session documentation, and troubleshooting minor technical issues.
- Manage studio scheduling and bookings, coordinating with artists, managers, and label representatives.
- Oversee inventory and procurement of studio supplies, gear, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure a professional, creative, and welcoming environment for all talent and staff.
- Handle administrative tasks including tracking session logs, budgets, and client billing as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive artist and project information with discretion.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of recording equipment and audio workflows (DAWs, microphones, patch bays).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in high-pressure situations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to interact with high-profile clients professionally.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Experience in a recording studio, music production program, or internship preferred but not required.
- Passion for music and a drive to grow in the recording industry.
