Job Description
As a Part-Time Handler/Warehouse Package Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of packages, documents, and supplies throughout our facility. This role requires focus, speed, and teamwork while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. You will contribute to FedEx’s commitment to excellence by keeping packages moving on time and in good condition for delivery to our customers.
This is a non-driving position (public roadway driving is not required), making it an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for physical, hands-on work in a warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely move packages, documents, and goods using effective scan/load methods.
- Handle dangerous goods and other materials with proper training and safety compliance.
- Load, unload, and stack packages in designated areas while maintaining accuracy.
- Perform package handling in all weather conditions, including hot, cold, or wet environments.
- Maintain compliance with FedEx’s quality, safety, and service standards.
- Support operational goals by ensuring packages are processed on time.
- Follow company policies, standard operating procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Perform additional warehouse tasks as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements
- No formal education or previous warehouse experience required.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. independently from ground to chest level.
- Ability to maneuver packages weighing above 50 lbs. with proper equipment or assistance.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting throughout scheduled work hours.
- Ability to stack packages above shoulder level and maneuver in enclosed spaces.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, noisy warehouse environments.
- Must maintain a constant state of alertness and adhere to all safety requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Rate: $17.20 per hour (starting).
- Split Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday: 6:45 AM – 8:30 AM & 5:00 PM – 6:45 PM.
