Action Against Hunger is leading the fight to end hunger worldwide. Operating in 55 countries, our dedicated team of 8,990 people works with communities to address the root causes of hunger, including climate change, conflict, and inequality. We’re urgently hiring a Foundation Relations Lead to help secure game-changing grants from top foundations, fueling life-saving programs across Africa, Haiti, and beyond.

This is a senior-level fundraising position for a proven relationship-builder and grant strategist with experience securing seven-figure+ funding from major philanthropic foundations.

Why This Role is Urgently Hiring

We’re expanding our institutional giving portfolio to meet the growing global need for hunger prevention and treatment programs. The Foundation Relations Lead will directly shape our fundraising strategy, secure transformative multi-year grants, and build long-term partnerships with leading foundations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Fundraising & Partnership Development

  • Design and execute a high-impact foundation engagement strategy aligned with our global mission.

  • Identify, research, and target foundation partners capable of seven- and eight-figure multi-year grants.

  • Analyse giving trends to uncover new funding opportunities.

Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with program officers, trustees, and key foundation decision-makers.

  • Represent Action Against Hunger at events, meetings, and high-level donor engagements.

Proposal Development & Grant Writing

  • Lead the creation of compelling, competitive grant proposals and funding pitches.

  • Collaborate with global teams to design programs aligned with both our mission and donor priorities.

Grant Stewardship & Compliance

  • Manage secured grants to ensure timely, high-quality reporting.

  • Develop tailored donor stewardship plans to foster long-term commitment.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in non-profit fundraising with a focus on foundation relations.

  • Proven success in securing $1M+ multi-year grants from top foundations.

  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills for high-value proposals.

  • Strong understanding of program design, budgets, and M&E frameworks.

  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.

  • Experience in international development, humanitarian aid, or global health is highly desirable.
