Job Summary:

We are urgently seeking a technically skilled Desktop Engineer – Lead Consultant to join our IT team. This remote-friendly role is perfect for candidates who thrive in fast-paced environments, excel in automation, and are eager to implement scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, and Artifactory for secure desktop automation and software delivery.

  • Develop advanced scripts in PowerShell and Bash to automate workflows, including custom XML-based UI tools.

  • Integrate APIs (Microsoft Graph, Nexthink, Jamf, etc.), databases, and reports to enhance endpoint management and streamline ITSM processes.

  • Administer and optimize Nexthink, Intune, and Windows 365 environments, including remote actions, investigations (NQL), and proactive remediation.

  • Troubleshoot complex desktop issues, including network/firewall, audio, and large-scale outages, with hands-on lab testing as needed.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve system performance, user experience, and automation coverage.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in Desktop Engineering, DevOps, or Automation-focused roles

  • Proficiency with integrated CI/CD-driven process automation workflows

  • Expertise in PowerShell, Bash, and API-driven automation for endpoint management and diagnostics

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Jenkins pipeline-as-code, GitHub branching strategies, and JFrog Artifactory lifecycle management

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and modern DevOps practices

  • Experience with Nexthink, Microsoft Intune, Windows 365, and Microsoft Power Platform

  • Extensive custom PowerShell and Bash scripting experience, including XML-based UIs

  • Proximity to Wheeling, IL for occasional on-site lab work

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience (preferred)
