Job Summary:
We are urgently seeking a skilled Machine Learning / AI Engineer to design, develop, and maintain AI/ML models that optimize federal electronic health records (EHR) processing and interoperability. This remote-friendly role is ideal for professionals passionate about healthcare AI innovation and eager to contribute to mission-critical federal projects. Key Responsibilities:

Build, train, and deploy AI/ML models for FHIR-compliant schema mapping and patient record linkage.

Implement AI-driven anomaly detection and predictive models for public health use cases.

Apply FHIR, OMOP, and HL7 standards to integrate federal EHR systems, ensuring secure interoperability.

Support tokenization and privacy-preserving record linkage for sensitive healthcare data.

Optimize model performance, accuracy, and interpretability while applying model governance frameworks.

Collaborate with federal OCIO, data governance, and health informatics teams to deliver compliant AI solutions.

Document methodologies, processes, and results for audit readiness and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related field.

3+ years of hands-on ML/AI model development experience.

Proficiency with AWS SageMaker, MLflow, and NLP tools.

Experience with FHIR, OMOP, and federal EHR data standards.

Knowledge of HIPAA, FedRAMP High, and FISMA compliance requirements.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with HHS, CMS, FDA, or other federal public health agencies.

Expertise in building large-scale healthcare data ingestion pipelines.

Certifications in AI/ML, cloud technologies, or healthcare informatics.
